About the artist

Rachel Novak is a Los Angeles–based artist originally from New Jersey, just outside of New York City.  Her practice centers on creating sculptural works that combine impressions from the natural world and popular culture with art historical references.  In other work, Novak brings her personal history--growing up near New York City, family relationships  in paintings and found object installations.  Primarily working in clay and wood, these influences shape the forms she creates and the materials she chooses.

Novak is a student at Loyola Marymount University getting her BFA in 3D Studies with a Minor in Art History.

Novak is all about fostering a creative environment for like-minded people! She co-runs a creative club on her college campus that meets weekly! We’re called The Outlet!
